Essential Water Experience
Picture yourself gliding like a pro around the Santa Cruz Harbor. This 90 minute lesson is essential for people who have limited water experience and need tuition for their first time paddling. Our instructors will walk you through the first steps of stand up on the paddleboard and take you on a tour around the Harbor. Once you have mastered SUPn you are free to paddle for an extra 30-minutes at your leisure around the Santa Cruz Harbor. Instructors will give you the confidence to stand up on the board and coach you through your first stokes standing on the SUP. You’ll be paddling like a pro around the Santa Cruz Harbor in no time.
Classes at the SUP Shack are small and intimate, with no more than six students per class as conveniently regulated by the Santa Cruz Harbor.
Our SUP lessons start promptly at 9 a.m. We request that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time so our staff can properly fit you with the right equipment. Late arrivals are rescheduled for the next available date.
Just yourself, wearing comfortable clothing – shorts, t-shirts. We do rent wetsuits for $10, so let us know if you need one.
All lessons must be canceled 24 hours prior to the date of reservation to avoid any cancellation fees.
All reservations are required to be paid prior to your visit to the SUP Shack. Click on the Book Now button to get started. Any bookings canceled within a 24-hour period are charged in full at the time of reservation. Walk-ins are welcome at the SUP Shack and are served on a first come, first served basis.
